More Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I don't see a folder icon in the chat.
A: The icon only appears once the chat has at least one upload or result. Upload a file or ask the agent to create a document.
Q: Where are the drafts from the old editor?
A: Older drafts appear in the reply as a Previous draft (read only) card. Click Open to read them. If you want to keep working on the content, ask the agent to turn it into a Word document.
Q: Can I delete or rename a file?
A: Not at the moment. Files in a chat are kept so that the agent and all members of a group chat can reliably refer to them. If you need a file under a different name, download it and upload it again with the new name.
Q: Is there a version history?
A: No. When the agent revises a file, it always creates a new one (… (2), … (3), and so on), and the previous versions are kept. When you edit a file yourself, it's overwritten. To keep the old version, download the file first.
Q: Why does it say “Read only” at the top?
A: Hover over “Read only” to see the reason. Common causes: the file comes from “Knowledge” or “Project”, it's a CSV file, it's larger than 30 MB, or it's an Excel workbook with charts, pivot tables, or macros. Learn more in Editing Word and Excel Files.
Q: Does the agent change my uploaded files?
A: No. The agent only reads your uploads. It always saves its output as a new file under “Results”.
Q: Does the agent know what I changed in a file?
A: Yes. Your saved version is the current version, and the agent builds on it for any further changes. Just wait until “Saved” appears at the top before you send your message.
Q: What does “Not saved – retrying” mean?
A: Saving briefly failed, usually because of your internet connection. It retries every 10 seconds. Keep the file open until “Saved” appears.
Q: What's under “Knowledge”?
A: This shows the documents from your knowledge base that the agent read in this chat. That way, you can see which sources an answer is based on. You can only change these files directly in the knowledge base.
Q: I have more than 20 comments.
A: You can send up to 20 comments per message. Send the first 20, wait for the new version, and then continue commenting on it.
Q: A file won't open or shows “No preview”.
A: Some file types don't have a preview, for example older .doc/.xls files, PowerPoint, or ZIP. In that case, download the file. The agent can still read most of these files. If you see the message “The file could not be opened.”, the file is probably corrupted.
Q: Can others see the files in my chat?
A: Only in group chats. There, all members share one file panel. Only you can see your personal chats and their files.
